(A resolution adopting revisions the Personnel Policy Handbook)
WHEREAS, the City’s Personnel Policy Handbook has not been substantially updated since 2008;
WHEREAS, some of the policies and procedures are in need of updating to make them more consistent with current law;
WHEREAS, the summary of changes needed to the Personnel Policy Handbook is set forth in the City Manager’s memo dated May 25, 2012, which is attached;
WHEREAS, the proposed revised City of Hood River Personnel Policy Handbook represents the complete and up to date state of personnel policy issues;
WHEREAS, the proposed City of Hood River Personnel Policy Handbook references and includes the City of Hood River Information and Communications Systems Policies and Guidelines;
WHEREAS, the proposed City of Hood River Personnel Policy Handbook complies with all aspects of federal and state law, such as FLSA, FMLA, OFLA, USERRA, ADA, and anti-discrimination laws; and
WHEREAS, the City should adopt the proposed City of Hood River Personnel Policy Handbook.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Hood River City Council that:
The City Council approves the revisions set forth in the City Manager’s memo of May 25, 2012, and adopts the revised versions of the Hood River Personnel Policy Handbook including the City of Hood River Information and Communication Systems Policies and Guidelines.
Approved by the Hood River City Council the 29 day of May, 2012, to take effect immediately.
