Resolution 2012-02

(A resolution closing bank accounts)


WHEREAS, the City of Hood River currently has 19 authorized bank accounts;

WHEREAS, six of these bank accounts are no longer used or necessary;

WHEREAS, it is the desire of Council to have the City operate as efficiently as possible;

WHEREAS, the Columbia State Bank Accounts:  Fire Prevention #337, CORPS #311 and Fair Winds #329 have not had activity in over a year;

WHEREAS, the US Bank Money Market:  Acct #308 has not issued checks during the past year;

WHEREAS, the Key Bank Money Market:  Acct #733 has not issued checks during the past year;

WHEREAS, Hood River County has requested the closure and return of its CAMI bank account balance #235;

WHEREAS, it is in the City’s best interest to close bank accounts do not have a dedicated purpose or active status.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Hood River City Council that:

1. The Columbia State Bank Account:  Fire Prevention #337 shall be closed and the balance deposited to the Columbia State Bank Account:  Money Market #274; and

2. The Columbia State Bank Accounts:  Fair Winds #329 and CORPS #311 shall be closed; and

3.   The Columbia State Bank Account:  CAMI #235 shall be closed and the balance sent to Hood River County; and

4.   The US Bank Money Market account #308 shall be closed and the balance deposited to the Columbia State Bank Account:  Money Market #274; and

5. The Key Bank Money Market Account #733 shall be closed and the balance deposited to the Columbia State Bank Account:  Money Market #274

Approved by the Hood River City Council on this 23 day of January, 2012, to take effect immediately.
