Resolution 2009-28

(A resolution approving a supplemental budget for 2009-2010 to add Timber Receipt revenue and remove City Gas Tax revenue)

 WHEREAS, ORS 294.480 allows the City to adopt a supplemental budget by resolution of the City Council;

WHEREAS, subsequent to the adoption of the City’s 2009-2010 budget, the City learned that it would be receiving $100,000 in Timber Receipt Revenue Funds from Hood River County.  The County had previously advised during the budget process that the City would be receiving no such funding;

 WHEREAS, the City Council adopted a gas tax pursuant to Ordinance 1973, which was referred to and rejected by the voters at the September 15, 2009, election.  The 2009-2010 budget had included $280,000 in estimated gas tax receipts, which the City will now not be receiving;

 WHEREAS, it is necessary to adopt a supplemental budget to account for the lost gas tax receipts in the Road Fund and for the addition of the $100,000 in Timber Receipt Revenues to the City/County Coop Fund;

 WHEREAS, the estimated expenditures contained in the supplemental budget attached as Exhibit A differ by 10 per cent or more of any one of the individual funds contained in the regular budget requiring notice and a public hearing; and

 WHEREAS, the City published the supplemental budget and provided notice as required by ORS 294.480(4) and held a public hearing on September 28, 2009, to consider the proposed supplemental budget.
 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Hood River City Council that:

The supplemental budget as shown on the attached Exhibit A is adopted.
Approved by the Hood River City Council the ______ day of ________________, 2009, to take effect immediately.
