WHEREAS, Title 12 of the Hood River Municipal Code (HRMC) provides for the establishment of wastewater service charges;
WHEREAS, Resolution 2066-22 contains the current wastewater service charges charged to users of the City’s wastewater system;
WHEREAS, HRMC Section 12.01.030(C) authorizes different rates for wastewater services provided outside City limits;
WHEREAS, upon review and consideration of the reasons for and against charging different rates for wastewater services provided outside City limits, the Council determines that higher rates should be charged for wastewater services provided outside City limits;
WHEREAS, the Council finds that the reasons set forth in the City Manager’s memorandum dated February 11, 2008, attached to this Resolution as Exhibit A, provide ample and reasonable justification for increasing service charges for wastewater services provided outside City limits by 25%;
WHEREAS, the Council adopts the City Manager’s memorandum as its own findings and incorporates the same by this reference;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Hood River City Council that:
Resolution 2006-22 is amended to provide for two categories of wastewater services: In City Limits and Outside City Limits. The service charges for wastewater services originating in City limits are not changed. The service charges for wastewater services originating outside City limits are the same as those for wastewater services originating in City limits, plus 25%.
Approved by the Hood River City Council the 11th day of February, 2008, to take effect immediately.
