WHEREAS, the Port of Hood River (“Port”) and City are jointly applying for a grant from the federal Economic Development Administration (“EDA Grant”) for funds to improve transportation infrastructure, including streets to be constructed on Port property and thereafter owned and maintained by the City;
WHEREAS, because the Port proposes to fund improvements to future City streets with the EDA Grant, if awarded, the City is required to be a co-applicant with the Port for the EDA Grant;
WHEREAS, the EDA Grant documents also require the City and Port to enter into an intergovernmental agreement pertaining to grant administration (“EDA Grant IGA”);
WHEREAS, the EDA Grant documents require a resolution of the City Council authorizing the Mayor to sign the EDA Grant documents and the EDA Grant IGA;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Hood River City Council that:
The Mayor is authorized to sign the EDA Grant documents and EDA Grant IGA.
Approved by the Hood River City Council the 28 day of January, 2008, to take effect immediately.
