Parks and Recreation
The City of Hood River maintains numerous parks within the City limits, providing a number of venues for recreation, family gatherings and larger group gatherings and events.
Park Usage Requirements – Permits and Fees
Reservations for groups and special events require a Park Usage Agreement. The fee is $75.00 per reservation. If the event involves the public, a Certificate of Insurance in the amount of $1 million naming the City of Hood River as an additional named insured is required as well as a Special Event Application. The Special Event Application fee is $60.00. The following parks require Park Usage Agreements: Children’s, Collins Baseball Field, Jackson, Stratton Rose Garden, Rotary, Tsuruta Park, Tsuruta Tennis Courts, and Wilson. Children’s Park (9th Street & Eugene Street)

- Park dedicated to our Sister City, Tsuruta, Japan
- Picnic table

- Sister City monument donated by citizens of Tsuruta, Japan
Tsuruta Tennis Courts (May Street between 13th Street &17th Street)
- Four tennis courts, daytime and nighttime play until 10 PM
Waterfront Park (On the Columbia River – Portway Avenue between 2nd Street and 8th Street)
- Hood River’s newest park
- Waterfront access and walkways completed in June 2008
- Restroom and playground dedicated June 23, 2009
- Picinic Shelter completed May 2010. Reservation fee: $100.00
- Future phases include amphitheatre and additional off-street parking
