The City of Hood River Fire Department is now accepting applications for the position of Volunteer Firefighter.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and posses a valid driver’s license.  Job duties include engaging in fire suppression of both structural and wildland fires, providing emergency medical services to your community, and responding to many other types of incidents.  New recruits will attend a fire academy starting in February and lasting approximately 4 months.  Academy classes are held in the evenings and on occasional weekends.
